I am raising money and hosting an Operation Christmas Child Box Packing Party. There are two ways you can give. Pack a box, make a donation or both!
You can donate to my fundraising page by following the link below. Your donations and prayers do make a difference. My goal is to raise $500. Please help me to meet my goal and even exceed it! Thank you in advance for your donations and care for others.

From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Year-round volunteers support these efforts across the country.
The cost to attend the packing party is $9 for one shoebox. This donation goes directly to Operation Christmas Child to cover all the cost involved in distributing the boxes. Extra donations are welcome and you can fill more than box if desired. Begin now by gathering items for your box and bring them on the day of the event. Shoe boxes will be provided. Follow the link below to see ideas on what to pack in your box.

Packing Ideas

On Saturday, bring your items and we will gather together, learn about the impact of Operation Christmas Child, enjoy refreshments, pack our boxes, and make a handmade Christmas card. Bring your kids. Coloring pages will be provided that they can color and personalize.

Thankful Branches – Last Day to Order and Some Fall Card Ideas

Today is the last day to order the Thankful Branches stamp set and thinlit dies. Below are some samples made with this bundle. In this post, I am focusing on Fall and Halloween. I hope you find some great ideas and inspiration.

The first one below is just using stamps and ink to create depth and movement. If you watched my video on how to make the leafy thank you card, then you will recognize this technique. The card base and layering piece is Very Vanilla (although it looks like Whisper White in the picture). I used the tree top canopy to stamp the leaves in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and a litle Old Olive. The sentiment was stamped with Old Olive.

Again, this next card is just straight up stamping. You can do a lot even if you do not own a Big Shot (although I highly recommend one!). The tree trunk, hills and sentiment are stamped in Soft Suede. The tree leaves are stamped with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Old Olive.  The card base is Old Olive and the layering piece is Very Vanilla. I sponged lightly with Pool Party to make the sky and sponged Old Olive for the ground.  I added gold cording from the Annual Catalog because I thought it needed a little extra something.

For this card, the card base is Cajun Craze and the layering piece is Very Vanilla. I stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Soft Suide.  The sentiment is in Soft Suede and the circle is sponged with the same color as well. The other circle is Cajun Craze and both were punched with the 2″ circle punch. The leaves are die cut out of Old Olive and Soft Suede card stock.

This next card is very similar to the one above. A “mistake” turned into a whole different look. When, stamping, The leaves on the right-hand side, some of them did not get a good impression, so I did some paper tearing along that edge. I liked the way it looked but it was off-balance, so I did the same to the left hand side. I sponged around the edges with Soft Suede. Then, the background needed a little somthing, so I used the stamp that looks like hills and turned it vertically to stamp a background in Old Olive on the base for a tone-on-tone look. When I adhered the card front, I tilted it just slightly because I thought it looked better that way.

The next two cards are not my original idea. I CASED this from Pinterrest and Youtube. I am not sure who gets the credit for  coming up with the idea to make a pumpkin out of the die cut leaves, but I thought this was so cute! For both cards, the base is Soft Suede and the front is Very Vanilla. For the top card, I used Soft Suede and used a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set to create a rustic background. For the second, I used Soft Suede with the Hardwood background stamp. I also sponged a little Soft Suede on the card front and around the edges of the “pumpkin”. To make the pumpkin, I die cut two tree canopies out of Pumpkin Pie card stock, turneed one of them upside down and adhered it to the other, off-setting it just a bit. The leaves are die cut in Cajun Craze and Old Olive and the stem is in Soft Suede.  Also, if you notice on the second card, the Old Olive Leaves are embossed. I achieved this look by running two sheets of card stock at one time through the Big Shot using the flower leaves thinlit die. The top piece was cut and the bottom piece was embossed. I layered them together and just love how it turned out!

For my final project, I wanted to try a Halloween card. The card base, die cut tree without leaves and hill are Basic Black card stock. The layering piece for the sky is Wisteria Wonder sponged with Elegant Eggplant. The moon is punched in Daffodil Delight with the 2″ circle punch, sponged with a little Elegant Eggplant. The ghost is in Whisper White punched with the Owl Builder punch. I cut off the feet and turned it upside down. I sponged it with Elegant Eggplant and added eyes and mouth with a journeling pen. Finally, I adhered the ghost to the card with a dimensional. This was a lot of fun to make and was really easy too!

I plan to make Christmas cards with this bundle, as well. I just haven’t got to them yet. If you are wondering how to make Christmas or winter-themed cards, there are loads of samples on Pinterest and YouTube. Also, you can make all sorts of flowers as well. Again, I just haven’t had the time to make some. You can tell that I am having so much fun with this set. I am hoping that they will bring this back (hint, hint to Stampin’ Up) in a future catalog.

If you would like to place an order for this bundle (today is the last day) or for any other supplies listed, go to the link on the right navigation bar that says “Shop Now”. This will take you to my online store. If you need assistance, please contact me by the phone number or email address listed.

I hope you have been inspired by this post.

Take care and happy stamping!
