April 2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Spring Color Challenge

Welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop. As usual, I am excited to be a part of this creative group of demonstrators! Our theme for this month is “Spring Color Challenge”.

This beautiful picture is the inspiration for this month’s challenge.

For the challenge, we were to use at least 3 of the following colors from the picture. The colors are:

Granny Apple Green
Daffodils Delight
Mango Melody
Highland Heather
Gray Granite

My Project

I decided to use Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather. I really love these colors! I made two variations of this card for the hop. I love how both of them turned out. The stamp set is one of my favorites from the occasions catalog called All that You Are. I stamped the large flower in stazon on whisper white card stock. Using wink of Stella I watercolored the flower in Daffodil Delight, the leaves in Granny Apple Green and the small flowers in Gorgeous Grape. I took a close-up of the flower and hopefully you can see the shine and sparkle from the wink of Stella. The watercolor panel was then glued to a piece of highland Heather card stock. Both panels were cut using the rectangle framlits from the occasion‘s catalog. For the card base, I used thick whisper white and covered the entire front with the Gingham Gala DSP in Highland Heather with the small checks facing up. Then, I adhered the flower panel at an angle to the card with dimensionals. The Happy birthday was stamped in Granny Apple green and cut out using the 1 3/8 circle punch I sponged around the edge of the circle in Granny Apple Green as well. The Happy birthday was attached to the top left corner. The large butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I punched it out with the matching butterfly duets punch, and colored it in wink of Stella using Daffidil Delight and Granny Apple Green ink. It was adhered to the bottom right corner with a dimensionals.

For my next project, Imdid something similar but this time I Stamped the flower with Stazon on Highland Heather cardstock. I used a chalk marker to define the lines in some of the areas. I colored the leaves with green, the buds in yellow and added a touch id Gorgeous Grape to the small flowers. I added Wink of Stella to all the images. I love how it soaked into the paper and darkened the large flower! I layered this panel on a piece of Highland Highland Heather embossed with the country floral embossing folder.

October 2018 Kreators Blog Hop: Autumn Color

I don’t know about you, but this is definitely my favorite time of year. It is also one of the busiest for me. As a result, I have been MIA for quite some time. My apologies!! However, I am once again participating the the Kreators Blog Hop. I am so happy to be in this blog hop with so many talented Stampin’ Up Demonstrators!

October 2018 Autumn Color Challenge

October 2018 Color Challenge - Autumn

This month, we are inspired by this beautiful photo and have been challenged to create projects using at least three out of four colors featured in the photo. The four colors represented in the photo are:  Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Gray Granite. Check out what I came up with and then hop to the next person in the list below.

Luminaria Card

In the Southwest, it is a Christmas tradition to decorate with Lumarias. A Luminaria is a Christmas lantern consisting of a votive candle set in a small paper bag weighted with sand and typically placed with others along a driveway, sidewalk, or rooftop as a holiday decoration. Now days, there is a less dangerous way to do this by using battery operated candles. Either way, they are beautiful! Last weekend, I participated in a fundraiser for cancer research in honor of a team member who recently passed away. For one of my projects, I came up with a Fall Luminaria card. I decided it would be fun to do one for this challenge as well. I took several pictures of card, which two sided. Unfortunately, my camera does not shoe the real WOW factor of this card. In real like, it is very pretty.

For this hop, I chose to use Soft Suede, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie. When you compare my project to the photo above, they look quite different. The photo is very vibrant, while my card represents these colors in a muted way. I think both are really pretty but have a very different vibe. However, let me know what YOU think. 🙂

If you would like the PDF for how I made this card, please contact me and I will be glad to send it to you! Here is a list of what I used for this project.

July 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Card Sketch Challenge

Hello!

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month, the theme is a card sketch challenge. The object is to create samples that have the elements of the sketch, while adding our own interpretation.

Here is the card sketch for the month of July.

Picture of card in portrait orientation. There is a standard card base (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) with a slightly smaller layer.. Top middle is a square, there is a strip near the bottom of the square in portrait orientation that is slightly wider than the square. It has banner tail on the right end. On top of this strip and on the bottom right of the square, thee is a starburst (or circle).

I am so excited to be a part of this creative group of Demonstrators. I hope you will be inspired by all the unique creations! My card samples feature some new products and new colors from the annual catalog, along with some old faves.

My “Guy” Card

I have a lot of trouble making cards for men. This card was inspired by my husband, so I will be giving it to him. He is a very creative person and really has great ideas. Let me know what you think.

I stamped on a paper bag using the Hardwood background stamp. I like the rustic look. I used the boots from the Country Livin’ stamp set and the “Love You” comes from the Enjoy Life stamp set. I used Soft Suede for all the stamping and sponging. I also used the masking tape technique on the square and the banner. If you don’t know about this technique, it is very easy and a lot of fun. If you want to learn how, join me TODAY – Sunday, July 8, at 2 PM central time on my Facebook page, Wallflower Greetings

June 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Hello Stampin’ Up Annual Catalogue

Hello!

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month, we are celebrating the release of the new Stampin’ Up 2018-2019 annual catalog, which came out June 1.

I am so excited to be a part of this creative group of Demonstrators. I hope you will be inspired by all the unique creations! My samples feature some new products and new colors.

2018-2020 In-Colors

I absolutely love the new in-colors! They work so well together and are bright and cheerful. And, as usual, they coordinate well with all the Stampin’ Up’s color families. This year, there is also some new colors that have been added to the color families and some that have gone away. Don’t fear though! All the colors in the color refresh are awesome!! More to to come on that, but today I am posting a couple of pictures of quick and easy cards made with the new in-colors. I hope you love them as much as I do!

For both sets of my cards, I used the Whisper White note cards. This is really a great  option when you need cards in a hurry. I used the Lemon Zest stamp set (I absolutely love this set!) and stamped the fruit slice all over in the same in-color for each card. For the second set of cards pictured below, I incorporated the new in-color cardstock. I used the 2 1/4 circle punch to cut a circle and then stamped using the matching in-color. You will notice that each card in each set is slightly different which also adds to fun and whimsy of the cards.

Grouping of all the notecards each stamped with the fruit slice in the same in-color on each card.Notecards featuring the new in color cardstock.

May 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Goodbye Occasions

Hello and happy May 2018!

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month, we say goodbye to the Occasions catalog and look forward to the new annual catalog which comes out June 1st.

However, there is still time to get some of your favorite items from the Occasions catalog before they go away. In addition, some items will be carrying over to the annual catalog which is awesome!

I am so excited to be a part of this creative group of Demonstrators. I hope you will be inspired by all the unique creations! My sample features some very lovely designer series paper. I tend to be a DSP hoarder, so I am trying to use it in creative ways.

Flower Power

I love the designer series paper in the Occasions catalog! This card features the Sweet Soiree DSP and a new embossing folder and stamp set in the “Love What You Do” suite, which you can actually order this month. The stamp set is called “love What You Do” (imagine that) and the embossing folder is called Lovely Floral. I also used the retiring In Color Stampin’ Write Markers for the flowers.

Thank you for visiting my blog. If you like what you see, contact your demonstrator to order.
