I recently discovered a big problem that all paper crafters seem to have. Take the following quiz and see if you are afflicted by card hoarding!
If you answered yes to at least three out of five, you are a card hoarder!
Stop the Cycle
Throughout April, I posted cards that I have sent or hand-delivered on my Facebook page, Wallflower Greetings. Here is one of them that I mailed this past Monday. The butterflies are from the Beauty Abounds stamp set from the Occasions catalog. The designer series paper is Gingham Gala, one of my faves that is retiring. I used the Daffodil Delight check pattern.
Take the Challenge
If you are a card hoarder, then take my challenge. Mail or hand-deliver at least one card a week. There are many people just waiting to receive a handmade card from you. Take a picture of your card and post it to my Facebook page, Wallflower Greetings. with #StopCardHoarding. Lets see how many you can send over the summer. The person who sends the most will win $20 in FREE merchandise of their choice!! Get to mailin’!
Last Chance List
Speaking of the retiring items! Don’t forget to get your faves before they are gone!! Accessories are while supplies last! Stamps are guaranteed until MAY 24 only, and then they will also be while supplies last. Depending on inventory levels, discounts on select products may be introduced on or after May 9. This is a great time to get your hands on some faves before they are gone. It is an exciting time because the new annual catalog comes out in June!!! See below for retiring product lists and how to order.
NOTE! Items will sell out quickly, so I do recommend ordering online so you will know immediately if your item is available, plus you won’t have to wait on me to finalize the order allowing time for a sell out!
The list is big and scary, but that just means all the more room for NEW exciting products!
Reminder: we will not sell the Big Shot in the new catalog, but we WILL carry dies and embossing folders that will work in the Big Shot. We will eventually be coming out with a new die cutting machine.
Reminder: we are discontinuing the Paper Trimmer due to issues. Stampin’ Up! hopes to have 6 months worth of trimmer blades available to purchase. They will be available off and on during this period (when we sell out they will be unavailable until we get more in).
Host Code for Online Orders
Don’t forget – use Host Code VB9KK76J when ordering online to receive my monthly ordering special (min $25).
Welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop. As usual, I am excited to be a part of this creative group of demonstrators! Our theme for this month is “Spring Color Challenge”.
This beautiful picture is the inspiration for this month’s challenge.
For the challenge, we were to use at least 3 of the following colors from the picture. The colors are:
Granny Apple Green
I decided to use Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather. I really love these colors! I made two variations of this card for the hop. I love how both of them turned out. The stamp set is one of my favorites from the occasions catalog called All that You Are. I stamped the large flower in stazon on whisper white card stock. Using wink of Stella I watercolored the flower in Daffodil Delight, the leaves in Granny Apple Green and the small flowers in Gorgeous Grape. I took a close-up of the flower and hopefully you can see the shine and sparkle from the wink of Stella. The watercolor panel was then glued to a piece of highland Heather card stock. Both panels were cut using the rectangle framlits from the occasion‘s catalog. For the card base, I used thick whisper white and covered the entire front with the Gingham Gala DSP in Highland Heather with the small checks facing up. Then, I adhered the flower panel at an angle to the card with dimensionals. The Happy birthday was stamped in Granny Apple green and cut out using the 1 3/8 circle punch I sponged around the edge of the circle in Granny Apple Green as well. The Happy birthday was attached to the top left corner. The large butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I punched it out with the matching butterfly duets punch, and colored it in wink of Stella using Daffidil Delight and Granny Apple Green ink. It was adhered to the bottom right corner with a dimensionals.
For my next project, Imdid something similar but this time I Stamped the flower with Stazon on Highland Heather cardstock. I used a chalk marker to define the lines in some of the areas. I colored the leaves with green, the buds in yellow and added a touch id Gorgeous Grape to the small flowers. I added Wink of Stella to all the images. I love how it soaked into the paper and darkened the large flower! I layered this panel on a piece of Highland Highland Heather embossed with the country floral embossing folder.

October 2018 Autumn Color Challenge
This month, we are inspired by this beautiful photo and have been challenged to create projects using at least three out of four colors featured in the photo. The four colors represented in the photo are: Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Gray Granite. Check out what I came up with and then hop to the next person in the list below.
In the Southwest, it is a Christmas tradition to decorate with Lumarias. A Luminaria is a Christmas lantern consisting of a votive candle set in a small paper bag weighted with sand and typically placed with others along a driveway, sidewalk, or rooftop as a holiday decoration. Now days, there is a less dangerous way to do this by using battery operated candles. Either way, they are beautiful! Last weekend, I participated in a fundraiser for cancer research in honor of a team member who recently passed away. For one of my projects, I came up with a Fall Luminaria card. I decided it would be fun to do one for this challenge as well. I took several pictures of card, which two sided. Unfortunately, my camera does not shoe the real WOW factor of this card. In real like, it is very pretty.
For this hop, I chose to use Soft Suede, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie. When you compare my project to the photo above, they look quite different. The photo is very vibrant, while my card represents these colors in a muted way. I think both are really pretty but have a very different vibe. However, let me know what YOU think. 🙂
If you would like the PDF for how I made this card, please contact me and I will be glad to send it to you! Here is a list of what I used for this project.
