April 2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop: Spring Color Challenge

Welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop. As usual, I am excited to be a part of this creative group of demonstrators! Our theme for this month is “Spring Color Challenge”.

This beautiful picture is the inspiration for this month’s challenge.

For the challenge, we were to use at least 3 of the following colors from the picture. The colors are:

Granny Apple Green
Daffodils Delight
Mango Melody
Highland Heather
Gray Granite

My Project

I decided to use Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather. I really love these colors! I made two variations of this card for the hop. I love how both of them turned out. The stamp set is one of my favorites from the occasions catalog called All that You Are. I stamped the large flower in stazon on whisper white card stock. Using wink of Stella I watercolored the flower in Daffodil Delight, the leaves in Granny Apple Green and the small flowers in Gorgeous Grape. I took a close-up of the flower and hopefully you can see the shine and sparkle from the wink of Stella. The watercolor panel was then glued to a piece of highland Heather card stock. Both panels were cut using the rectangle framlits from the occasion‘s catalog. For the card base, I used thick whisper white and covered the entire front with the Gingham Gala DSP in Highland Heather with the small checks facing up. Then, I adhered the flower panel at an angle to the card with dimensionals. The Happy birthday was stamped in Granny Apple green and cut out using the 1 3/8 circle punch I sponged around the edge of the circle in Granny Apple Green as well. The Happy birthday was attached to the top left corner. The large butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I punched it out with the matching butterfly duets punch, and colored it in wink of Stella using Daffidil Delight and Granny Apple Green ink. It was adhered to the bottom right corner with a dimensionals.

For my next project, Imdid something similar but this time I Stamped the flower with Stazon on Highland Heather cardstock. I used a chalk marker to define the lines in some of the areas. I colored the leaves with green, the buds in yellow and added a touch id Gorgeous Grape to the small flowers. I added Wink of Stella to all the images. I love how it soaked into the paper and darkened the large flower! I layered this panel on a piece of Highland Highland Heather embossed with the country floral embossing folder.

Sale-a-brate the Occasion in 2019

Hello crafty peeps!

The Occasions catalog is here! It is chock full of new products and ideas just in time for many of the events and holidays that happen around this time of year. In fact, did you know that Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day hold the title for the highest number of store bought greeting cards? It’s true! My question is why buy a mass-produced card that can be quite pricey when you can make your own personal cards and gifts to give to others? It is more meaningful, because it is handmade from you! In addition to all the great new products to choose from, they coordinate wonderfully with items from the current annual catalog as well. Then, it gets even better because you can earn FREE items from the Sale-a-bration brochure. Stampin’ Up goes all out January through March. You can earn a LOT of free stuff during this time of year.

Check out all the fun videos below and then be sure to attend my catalog tours and Facebook Live Events.

October 2018 Kreators Blog Hop: Autumn Color

I don’t know about you, but this is definitely my favorite time of year. It is also one of the busiest for me. As a result, I have been MIA for quite some time. My apologies!! However, I am once again participating the the Kreators Blog Hop. I am so happy to be in this blog hop with so many talented Stampin’ Up Demonstrators!

October 2018 Autumn Color Challenge

October 2018 Color Challenge - Autumn

This month, we are inspired by this beautiful photo and have been challenged to create projects using at least three out of four colors featured in the photo. The four colors represented in the photo are:  Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Gray Granite. Check out what I came up with and then hop to the next person in the list below.

Luminaria Card

In the Southwest, it is a Christmas tradition to decorate with Lumarias. A Luminaria is a Christmas lantern consisting of a votive candle set in a small paper bag weighted with sand and typically placed with others along a driveway, sidewalk, or rooftop as a holiday decoration. Now days, there is a less dangerous way to do this by using battery operated candles. Either way, they are beautiful! Last weekend, I participated in a fundraiser for cancer research in honor of a team member who recently passed away. For one of my projects, I came up with a Fall Luminaria card. I decided it would be fun to do one for this challenge as well. I took several pictures of card, which two sided. Unfortunately, my camera does not shoe the real WOW factor of this card. In real like, it is very pretty.

For this hop, I chose to use Soft Suede, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie. When you compare my project to the photo above, they look quite different. The photo is very vibrant, while my card represents these colors in a muted way. I think both are really pretty but have a very different vibe. However, let me know what YOU think. 🙂

If you would like the PDF for how I made this card, please contact me and I will be glad to send it to you! Here is a list of what I used for this project.

Crafty Trails Series – “It’s the Great Pumpkin”

Hello crafty peeps!

I hope you are having a fantastic Monday. I know it is the beginning of the work week for a lot of us, but I hope you find creative inspiration no matter what you are doing or where you are.

Crafty Trails Series on Wallflower Greetings

Last week, I had the opportunity to take a little vacation to two of my favorite places; our family ranch and the Rocky Mountains, both in New Mexico. I took a lot of pictures and video on my trip and it inspired me.

I have a weekly Facebook Live event called Crafty Trails. In the past, I focused on how to craft while traveling. Now, in the next months, I will focus on a particular theme and the idea that inspiration can be found all around us if we just look. Granted, with beautiful Fall trees in the mountains, inspiration is not hard to come by. However, we take so many daily things for granted that are beautiful and worthwhile. This is my challenge to me and you in the coming months.

Kicking off Crafty Trails in the month of October, I pulled together some pictures and video from my trip into one and posted it on Facebook on Wednesday, October 3. I have posted it below. Enjoy!

https://www.facebook.com/WallflowerGreetings/videos/272688280241335/

I hope you will join me on Facebook Live in the month of October for the Crafty Trails Series entitled:  “it’s the Great Pumpkin”. Learn how to make pumpkins of all kinds out of paper, stamp pumpkins on a variety of materials, and even paint pumpkins!! Here is the link to the weekly event.
